In the contemporary society, with the advanced internet techonology and widespread use of phones with camera, social media is the crucial platform for communication and information transmission. Images, videos and sounds have replaced texts' role in sensory mode, becoming the media that people apply to understand each other and the world. The internet allows people to create identity, record life and share opinions, boosting the chance for speaking up. As people are indulged in the production of images and texts, portrait photography becomes a popular performing technique. Between capturing and being captured, seeing and being seen, subjects are formed into objective figures. Pose is visual language. The posing subject poses to respond to social, historical, cultural expectations and norms, while seeking their inner self-recognition. To pose indicates to respect oneself and to ask for respect. In the society of image, people seek to gain right and power of dealing with the world and showing themselves through various forms, demonstrate sensory languages of the era with their creative skills and senses. In the exhibition Hsinchu POSE, Japanese artist Satoru Kondo and local artist LIN Hsin I are invited to participate in this creative project, applying vision, hearing and touch as materials to portray sensory text for the local personal. Collecting samples from the aspect of career and ethnic groups separately, the artists use figures, narratives and cultural elements of the local to construct the worker handbook and the micro narrative with juxtaposition of visual and sound languages. Through the portrait theatre and sound-body interaction, aesthetic experience echoes, shaping a hundred poses of the Hsinchu local.
